Few models have the cache of the Corvette, which has been an icon in the performance car realm for over six decades. But the 2027 model year brings big news, as the Stingray gets a major engine upgrade, trading its 6.2-liter V8 for Chevrolet’s LS6 powerplant. This new 6.7-liter small-block V8 generates 535 horsepower and 520 lb.-ft. of torque (besting the former by 45 hp and 55 lb.-ft.), helping the Stingray accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and boast an 11-second quarter-mile run at 124 mph. The stroke measures 100 millimeters (up from its predecessor’s 92 mm), to accommodate the 0.5-liter displacement increase, while a compression ratio of 13.0:1—the highest ever for a Corvette V8—improves thermal efficiency. The previously optional performance exhaust system is now standard across the lineup, while Pitch Gray Metallic and Admiral Blue Metallic join the exterior color palette.
